History

Exposición Carlos Tapia, Galería Valanti, 2003Valanti Gallery was inaugurated in 1974 with an exhibition of the recognized Costarrican artist Rafael Fernández. The gallery started promoting only Costarrican artist, during 10 years. In 1984, Latin American artists were incorporated to the gallery and this has been the main objective since now.

In 1980, the gallery started offering art classes with the best Costarrican artists as teachers: Gonzalo Morales, Rafa Fernández, Margarita Bertheau, Fransisco Amighetti, and others. During this time, the gallery started presenting Costarrican artists at international art shows in Miami, Colombia, Venezuela and others.

Since 1995, Valanti Gallery organizes an Annual Latin American Art Seminar with Dr. Bélgica Rodríguez, writer, art critic and former presidente of the IACA - International Art Critics Association.
